Wrap it up & Receive

Here we are in the final 2 weeks of the year AND the decade. How are you?

This time of year can feel intense in both delightful and make-me-want-to-hibernate ways. We are in the afterglow of the final full moon, with the winter solstice this weekend, and holidays a-plenty. I don't know about you, but 2019 did not unfold in the way it presented back in January. At. All. It's been a year of major plot twists, unexpected journeys, and challenges on all levels. It only recently dawned on me, that we are also wrapping up a full ten years of living this crazy life. Wow.

As the year wraps up it's a natural time for reflection, amplified by the culmination of the decade as well. Can you even recall what was going on in your life in 2010? Or take in the immensity of ways it's changed from where you sit now?  It's common for the holidays to bring up sadness or grief around those who are no longer with us, the hopes we had that didn't play out as we envisioned, or the stress of a full calendar and to-do list.

What if instead of ruminating on wrapping up all the loose ends, the might have beens, or what you've lost, you approach it differently?

What if you use these final weeks to reflect and acknowledge the growth, the successes big and small, the leaps of faith, the times you dusted yourself off and kept going, when things worked out better than you imagined, the strength you discovered, the patterns you've shifted. What if you focus on all ways you've become a better, truer version of yourself, wrap it all up, and receive it as a beautiful gift for YOU?

We are each different people than we were back in January, back in 2010. Allow yourself to receive and take in who you are now, because this is your starting point for what comes next. Each day is a new beginning. Each moment there are new choices available. Whatever you want to create in this new year, new decade of experience, will be supported by graciously and compassionately receiving the being you are in this moment.

It's time to wrap it up and celebrate the miraculous, strong, bright light you are. Life will always have plot twists, messes, and hard things, but you can and have grown in your capacity and ability to move forward with courage and ease. May this new chapter of your life be filled with grace, joy, and creations aligned with your heart.
