Live Your Love Story
Today is both a Full, Super Moon and the Equinox, a potent gateway on many levels. Depending on your location, today marks the arrival of Spring or Autumn, regardless of which it is, it's an important turning point. Twice a year, during the period of the Equinox, cracks open up in the Earth's magnetic field - Equinox Cracks. Our personal magnetic field syncs up with the Earth, so when these cracks arrive, we tend to crack open as well, often we feel unbalanced, emotional, out of sorts. Our ancestors knew that during these periods we have an increased ability to release more deeply, to shed our stories of the past, and step through the gateway into something new, more balanced, more aligned with our heart and our highest destiny.
The past days my thoughts have been drawn to the stories we tell ourselves and the stories we live. I've found myself referring to the many unexpected occurrences and shifts in plans, happening almost daily now, as plot twists. This morning I recalled a Valentine's Day post from Tony Robbins that ended with...
Is it time to rewrite your love story? How will you show up? How will you grow? What do you want to give and be for the one you love?
This brought to mind a healing session I had years ago with a Peruvian shaman. Through the translator, he told me that I would experience the greatest love story I had ever known. At the time, I was grieving the death of my husband, and interpreted this message to about a relationship to come. Reflecting back, I now understand that what he was seeing was MY LIFE as the greatest love story I have ever known.
When my husband died my life became a story of tragedy. In those early weeks, that was the story that everyone around me was telling, a story of tragedy and loss. Deep in my heart I knew that I would not survive or thrive living in this story. To move forward and raise our son, I needed to find a new story. It was through the shamanic path of healing that I came to understand that I am the one writing the story of my life. Each day. Every day.
Often people call on a shamanic practitioner when they aren't sure what else to do. I hear things like "I'm so tired of the same old story, I've hit a wall, I feel stuck." These moments, feeling so over it all, are an invitation to release the old story as complete, pick up a fresh page, and begin writing a new story. Seem simple? It really is.
Consider for a moment the story you are living now, the stories you tell yourself about your life. Is it all about what happened in the past? Are you a victim or the hero/heroine of your story? Do you tell your story through the lens of failure or awareness gained through life experience? Most importantly, are you living a love story?
If you are tired of your story right now or if it's not a story that is empowering and enlivening, then I invite you to use the power of the Super Full Moon to illuminate what is complete in your life, the story or chapter that is played out and done, that isn't taking you anywhere new. Envision yourself, free of the old stories, stepping through the gateway into a story of new possibilities. A story rooted in LOVE.
This isn't about opting out, copping out, giving up on the characters in your story, or walking away. This is about recognizing your resources, your relationships, and the wisdom gained through your experiences, as the material you have to work with to begin to live a new story, the one you came to this Earth to experience and share. This is about transforming your life into the greatest love story you have ever known, because IT IS TIME.
Love takes us to our edges of comfort and what is known. Love invites and encourages us to expand beyond what we believe we are capable of. Love carries us to moments of joy and holds us through the losses that create space for the new. The greatest love stories aren't all rainbows and sunshine. The greatest love stories include the moments that crack us wide open, the people that see us in ways we can't see ourselves, the hard work it takes to keep our heart open when all we want to do is armor up to get through. Love connects us to one another and helps us find the hope and see the creation taking shape in the chaos of change.
If you aren't living what you consider to be a love story, today is your today. Take some time to take stock of what is cracking open in your life to reveal the possibility of something new. Lay down the old heavy stories or be willing to see them in a new light. You are the hero/heroine of your story. In this moment, what is the one thing you can do that could change it all for the better? If you are in the thick of plot twists, how can you turn them to your advantage? How can you infuse your story with more compassion and love. Remember my friend, YOU write the story of your life, so make it the greatest love story you have ever known. We need more love stories in this world to inspire us to dream a new world into being. Today is both a Full, Super Moon and the Equinox, a potent gateway on many levels.
